Ohgi School
Our tradition of dance is called the Ohgi School. The Ohgi School is a member of the Japanese Classical Dance Association and is mainly active in the Kansai Region.
Our founder is the Kabuki actor Onoe Kikugoro ( a living National Treasure), and our headmaster is Ohgi Baihou.
Our style embodies the essence of traditional classical dance and carries forward the lineage of the Kabuki dance style of Onoe Kikugoro VI.
Baiho is particularly renowned for his magnificent ability to uphold the traditional essence of Nihonbuyou but also able to beautifully combine this with modern and innovative choreography and production.
His greatest passion is to pass along the great tradition of Ohgi and looks forward to the day that he can honorably name the successor of headmaster.
